Before you start

Microsoft Access 2019 is a single application for creating and managing relational databases in a Windows environment. Important: Access 2019 is a standalone application, but it still belongs to the Office 2019 family. This means that it uses Office licensing mechanisms for installation and activation, rather than Windows. System requirements

Downloading the installer

It is safest to download the installer from the official Microsoft source, using the link or instructions provided by KluczeSoft. Before installation, check that there is no other version of Office with the opposite architecture already installed on your computer, such as 32-bit alongside the planned 64-bit Access. This is one of the most common causes of installation errors.

If you previously had a trial version of Office, Microsoft 365, or an older Access installed, it is a good idea to uninstall it before starting the installation of the new licence.

Step-by-step installation

Step 1: preparing the system

Close all Office applications and check in Control Panel > Programs and Features that there are no conflicting versions of Office or Access.

Step 2: running the installer

Download the installation file, right-click on it, and select "Run as administrator". Then, choose the 32-bit or 64-bit version that matches your system and any additional components you have.

Step 3: waiting for installation to complete

The installer will copy the programme files and add shortcuts to the Start menu. Once the installation is complete, run Access 2019.

Activation

Activation in the graphical interface

1. Open Microsoft Access 2019.
2. Go to File > Account.
3. Click Change product key.
4. Enter the received license key.
5. Confirm and connect to the internet to complete the activation.

Activation via CMD

For Office products, we use ospp.vbs, first /inpkey, then /act.

For 64-bit installation:

Phone activation

If the online server rejects activation, run Access, select phone activation, and follow the consultant's or automated instructions. Number: 00 800 121 1654.

Activation verification

You can check the activation status in File > Account, where information about the activated product should appear. You can also use the command:

cscript ospp.vbs /dstatus

A correct result usually contains the license status and the ending of the installed key.

Troubleshooting

1. "This product key is intended for a different version of Office"

Most often, the key was entered into the wrong edition or a different product was installed than purchased. Check if you have exactly Access 2019, not another version.

2. Error 0xC004F050

The key is incorrect or entered with a typo. Enter it again, preferably using the copy-paste method without spaces at the beginning and end.

3. Error 0xC004C060

The key has been blocked or the allowed usage has been exhausted. In such a situation, contact the seller and prepare a screenshot of the message.

4. "Cannot install 64-bit version because 32-bit Office products were detected"

Uninstall older Office components or install Access in the same architecture as the other applications.

5. Online activation does not work despite a correct key

Check your internet connection, system date, firewall, and antivirus program. Sometimes running Access as an administrator or phone activation helps.

6. ospp.vbs is not recognized

Run CMD in the correct Office16 directory or provide the full path to the file. The problem usually means the wrong Office folder location.

Version comparison

If you only need a database and reports, Access 2019 is the cheapest option. However, if you also want Word, Excel, and Outlook, a full Office package is more cost-effective.
