The KMS host encountered a DNS error while attempting to register SRV records. The DNS server may be unavailable or misconfigured.

• During activation, the message appears: "DNS server failure"
• Error code: 0x8007232A
• English version: "DNS server failure"

Step-by-Step Solution

Check if the DNS server is running and available. Verify the DNS configuration on the KMS server. Run nslookup to test name resolution.

Solution for Windows Server

1. Open PowerShell as administrator
2. Enter the key:

slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

1. Activate:

slmgr /ato

1. Check status:

slmgr /xpr

Verification

After performing the steps, check if the activation was successful:

• Windows: Settings → System → Activation → should be "Windows is activated"
• Or: slmgr /xpr in the command line
