Error 0xC004F06C: The request timestamp is invalid
This error occurs in: Windows 10, Windows 11, Windows Server.
Cause
The time difference between the client computer and the KMS server is too large (over 4 hours). KMS activation requires synchronized clocks.
Symptoms
- During activation, the message appears: "The request timestamp is invalid"
- Error code:
0xC004F06C - English version: "The KMS determined that the request timestamp is invalid"
Step-by-step solution
Synchronize the system time with the NTP server: net time /resync or configure automatic time synchronization in Settings > Time and language > Date and time.
Solution for Windows Server
- Open PowerShell as administrator
- Enter the key:
slmgr /ipk XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
- Activate:
slmgr /ato
- Check the status:
slmgr /xpr
Verification
After performing the steps, check if the activation was successful:
- Windows: Settings → System → Activation → should be "Windows is activated"
- Or:
slmgr /xprin the command line
Still not working?
If the above steps did not help:
- Check the date and time — they must be correct (an incorrect date can block activation)
- Temporarily disable antivirus and try again
- Check the internet connection — online activation requires a connection to Microsoft servers
